Lalit Krishna / Browser Agent
CI/CD Catalog (unpublished)Browser Agent is a privacy-first, local desktop browser automation project designed to let users delegate browser tasks to an autonomous agent while keeping sensitive data and execution under their control.
Built with Rust, Tauri 2, and React/TypeScript, the project explores a native desktop architecture with Chromium DevTools Protocol (CDP) integration and local language models. Its goal is to enable practical workflows such as navigating websites, interacting with page elements, managing forms, and assisting with online tasks without relying on paid cloud AI APIs.
The architecture separates perception, reasoning, policy enforcement, execution, and verification to make browser automation more controlled, observable, and auditable. It emphasizes explicit permission checks, origin-bound credential handling, risk-aware action classification, safe handling of untrusted webpage content, and verification of action outcomes.
Security and privacy are core design goals: sensitive credentials should remain outside model-visible context, browser isolation should remain enabled, and resource limits should allow the agent to stop safely when conditions become unstable or uncertain.
The project targets resource-constrained local hardware, with an emphasis on measurable performance, memory usage, reliability, and transparent failure handling rather than simulated activity or unverified success.
Status: Under active development. Native browser integration, local-model feasibility, and end-to-end automation are subject to implementation and validation.
The long-term vision is a standalone, open-source desktop agent that makes browser automation more private, secure, transparent, and user-controlled.
