Changes to PvP
Adding as an issue and supplying as individual merge requests.
As TT has changed over the years and many of its features and community having shifted, PvP has languished behind. Between this and complications which arise on a consistent basis, I am looking to change how PvP works during a normal round with Transformania Time. This is an experiment and is in no way the final product. Changes that I am making will be changed or removed depending on how they work within the context of the game. With that being said, the following are changes this PR will do:
- (TODO, !1157 (merged)) At character creation, PvP-mode will be removed from the list of available choices. Protection and Super Protection will still exist, but people will be unable to toggle PvP when they make their characters.
- (TODO) PvP will be a mode that can be toggled by anyone at anytime by entering into PvP-designated locations. For example, if an individual chooses to enter into the dungeon, they will be put into the PvP game mode. When an individual leaves, they will be removed from the PvP game mode and placed back into Protection. This means that entering any area that is clearly marked for PvP is consent by the individual and all PvP rules apply.
- (!1165 (merged)) The PvP blacklist now works in regular rounds.
- (No change planned) PvP will continue to be a selectable mode during chaos. People will be able to toggle it from their settings as normal.
- (!1154 (merged)) Players must confirm they wish to enter the dungeon.
- (TODO, !1213 (merged)) Reconsider enchanting and safegrounds for covens. Add additional functionality for covens.
- (TODO) A PvP arena of some sort, or an area that is PvP that covens or individuals can fight over landmarks in a king-of-the-hill style.
- (TODO, !1161 (merged)) Dungeon update including dungeon-exclusive features, such as perks, items, unique NPCS and bosses, etc.
- (!1162 (merged)) Allow for the spawning of Ruthless and Eternal psychopaths in PvP-designated areas.
- (TODO) Add a vendor for the dungeon to make use of Dungeon Points
- (TODO, !1181 (merged), !1227 (merged), !1238 (merged)) Implementation of a Hard Core or Bad End option. This option will include features such as being automatically locked if turned into a pet or an item without the option to struggle out (the only way out would be to reroll a new character). As a part of this, individuals may find it harder to cleanse or meditate. Allow an achievement for the longest time in hard mode without being inanimated.
- (TODO) Implementation of an Easy option. This option would allow someone dropped on the floor or not equipped by an individual to instantly restore to normal after a certain amount of time.
- (!1153 (merged)) Allow moderators to ban an individual from PvP should they be found of abuse.
- (TODO) Adjust how bounties work and include them into the PvP structure.
- (TODO) Back-alley or short-cuts will be added to the map to allow for faster travel. These areas will be additional PvP-designated zones.
- (!1208 (merged)) Adjust timers for PvP changes on cooldowns (combat, items, etc).
- (TODO) Adjust checks for alts. Allow two animate accounts; if both are in the same mode, reduce XP earned by 1/2
