This is a study project built using FastAPI to practice microservice architecture, data normalization techniques, and clean API design.

The service receives raw payloads from different simulated sources and transforms them into a standardized and validated structure.

It centralizes normalization logic and demonstrates how to build a scalable, maintainable, and test-friendly data processing layer.

The aims of CCCOOCI (chocolate chip cookie optimisation open collaborative initiative) are the deeper understanding of and the optimisation of the creation of chocolate chip cookies, in an open and collaborative fashion. The secondary goal of the project is the development of technical proficiency by participating researchers in the use of tools which facilitate FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, & Re-usable) research outputs including the ability reproduce results with detailed protocol level methods, along with open source analysis code, open data, and reproducible compute environments. (In what some might consider a lower stakes context - I for one take chocolate chip cookies very seriously.)

A Python script to convert PDF test files into XML format compatible with Daypo.com. The script extracts text from PDFs, applies OCR for scanned documents, and uses an AI API to structure the content into questions and answers. It also marks correct answers and generates XML files ready for upload to Daypo.
